Jesus is the Word is led by people who were called to this work long before it had a name.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Alberto Henriques Daniel is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Jesus is the Word. Angola is his homeland; his path took him from Africa to Brazil, and later to the United Kingdom, where the charity was established.
His sense of calling began early. From the age of twelve he was already asking how he might serve God, and at seventeen he entered ministry within his church in Africa. That question — how best to serve — has shaped every chapter since.
On arriving in the United Kingdom, that calling took its present form: a mission to stand alongside people experiencing homelessness, and to care for orphans and widows. It remains the work Jesus is the Word is built upon, carried out today across the UK, Africa, and Brazil.
Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Every meal served, every child supported, and every widow visited begins with that calling.
